The purpose of the middle school agricultural education program is to explore and stimulate interest in the agricultural industry, through classroom and laboratory experiences designed for basic understandings, basic skill development, agricultural literacy, and personal development. During the 9 week period, students will explore many areas of agriculture including: agriscience, plant science, animal science, food science, forestry and wildlife management.
FFA members attend workshops that focus on building teamwork and communication, displaying professionalism, and planning their chapter’s Program of Activities for the coming year. Students also learn about creativity and innovation, conducting successful chapter meetings, and specific officer responsibilities. Students are encouraged to set goals and gain a variety of ideas for recruitment, public relations and fundraising.
Mr. Jimmy Cargle is the Agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor.
