Our after-school Art Club held its first meeting on Tuesday! During this session, students learned about the resist art technique. They used a white crayon to draw their names and other objects, then painted over the crayon with watercolors to reveal their creations! We can’t wait to work on more projects this school year! 💙👩🏽‍🎨🧑🏼‍🎨 #wearejtr #4theT

Parents, join us for an important informational meeting at your child’s school on:

📍 Each elementary school will host their own session — attend at your child’s school.

During this session, we’ll share helpful strategies and guidance on:

Academic Expectations for the 2nd semester: importance of reading at home, math fact fluency, and vocabulary

Developmental Milestones and how they connect to academic success

Studying & Organizational Skills: time management and building independence

Shifts in Attitude & Independence: supporting growth in a positive way

Healthy Communication & Emotional Regulation: tools for your child’s well-being

Managing Technology: screen time, social media, and peer influence

Navigating Friendships & Conflict

We’ll also share details about Destination Day (March 6, 2026), registration for rising 6th graders.

This is a great opportunity to learn how to support your child as they move into the second half of the school year. We look forward to seeing you there!

The “Absence Note for Tift County Schools” form is used to document a student’s absence from school (it is the same as a hand written note). The school can accept up to three handwritten notes per nine weeks; however, a doctor’s note is always accepted and preferred. The attached form helps parents or guardians provide a written explanation for their child’s absence, ensuring it is properly recorded and, when appropriate, excused in accordance with district policy.
